
The Woman’s Club of Evanston is unique historic event venue located in the heart of downtown Evanston, Illinois. Established in 1889, the Club has a rich history of social activism and charitable giving that continues today. The Clubhouse, desgined by Ernest Mayo and built in 1912, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. An extensive renovation was completed in 2020 and this grand dame is looking her best. The new furnishings, fabrics and wall paper exude a smart, sophisticated elegance captured in the grand architechural details of this historic building.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples may host up to 250 guests for both a ceremony and seated dinner at The Woman’s Club of Evanston. There are two floors with generously sized rooms to accommodate all aspects of your event. The classic architecture features a marble entrance hall and double staircase leading to the Grand Ballroom. Imagine dancing under the beautiful ballroom ceiling with its arches and bas relief. The first floor encompasses the intimate Tea Room with its cozy fireplace, bright Sun Porch and spacious Music Room. These areas are perfect for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
