About

‘Sweet Pete’ Behringer was raised by chocolatiers. When he was eleven years old, his mother opened a family chocolate business which grew to encompass 32 locations! In 2010, Behringer branched out and opened his own candy shop in a whimsically decorated historic Florida home. Pete’s scrumptious and colorful handcrafted candies quickly gained popularity in the Jacksonville area. After its 2014 feature on CNBC's The Profit and in partnership with Marcus Lemonis, Sweet Pete’s opened a new Downtown Jacksonville location in the historic Seminole Club. Boasting 23,000 square feet and three stories, this affectionately nicknamed ‘candy mansion’ is one of the largest candy shops in the United States. Offering a line of handcrafted quality chocolates and over a thousand different types of candies as well as interactive factory tours, hands-on candy making classes, parties, and more, Sweet Pete’s really lives up to its reputation as the Sweetest Destination on Earth!
