It was named for the ancient Italian Stone Pines which stand sentry over this private estate built in 1929 by the Crocker banking family of San Francisco. Owners Gordon and Noel Hentschel are now making this private luxury estate available for social gatherings, executive retreats, film/photo locations, and weddings. The gated estate offers the very best in classical country living in 'Chateau Noel', the Mediterranean-style mansion set in the midst of manicured grounds and English gardens. Guest houses in picturesque locations throughout the estate include the luxurious 'Hermes House', the romantic country cottage 'Briar Rose', the equestrian 'Paddock House' and the owners 'Gate House' with its own guest cottage, swimming pool and tennis court. Stonepine Estate boasts the oldest working thoroughbred equestrian farm west of the Mississippi featuring a Polo field ringed by a four furlong Sulky track, dressage arenas, hunter course, and a 3.5 mile cross country jumping course. On the grounds of the estate is also a swimming pool, tennis court, soccer field, archery range, a health facility, and a 4-hole executive golf course.
