Welcome to Soli Deo Gloria! Soli Deo Gloria Weddings and Events is located near Greenwood, Texas. We are a beautiful 1-hour drive North of the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex. Soli Deo Gloria is a Latin phrase that means "Glory to God Alone". This name was carefully chosen to represent this lovely venue. We desire to glorify God in all we do. The beautiful Chapel, Party Hall and Guest Cabin are nestled amongst towering oak, cedar elm, bois de' arc, and cedar trees. We are known for the beauty and peace that envelope the property. The venue was born in 2017. The Chapel is built with wood from a historic old church built in 1908 which was originally located 2 miles east of Soli Deo Gloria. The building was meticulously dismantled and brought to the property. The Chapel was designed and built by the proprietors family. Surrounded by trees, the Chapel reflects its rustic past and an industrial future. It's lofted ceiling reaches to the sky. The windows beckon the outdoors to come inside. The chapel holds 150 guests and the sliding glass can completely recess to open the chapel up to an additional 50 guests. We also have a beautiful outdoor site for weddings under the Wedding Tree. In 2019 the Party Hall was designed and built to reflect the look and charm of the Chapel; lots of windows, sliding glass doors old wood and exposed beams. The Party Hall features reclaimed wood from an 1885 barn and an 1885 shack that was home to the proprietor's Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Father. Indoor and outdoor lighting makes for a festive party atmosphere. The Guest Cabin was built in 2007 from wood harvested from one of the proprietors Great Grandparents Old Home Place. The cabin has served many purposes over the years, it now houses the Bride and Bridesmaids the day of the wedding. It is often rented the night of the rehersal for the Bride and Bridesmaids to spend the night. It is also offered as the Bridal Suite for the newly married couple. Some couples return to the SDG Cabin to celebrate their anniversary. This venue is also the perfect setting for Wedding or Baby Showers, Rehersal Dinners, Birthday Parties, Vow Renewals, Anniversary Parties, Fund Raisers, Daddy-Daughter Dances, Family Reunions, Corporate Parties, Christmas Parties and more.
