Facilities and Capacity Completely renovated 2021, the old chapel has a new life. Sited on 3.2 scenic acres, we are happy to host between 2 and 24 of your closest friends and family for intimate gatherings and celebrations. The beautiful brick walls are accentuated by the natural light of floor-to-ceiling windows. Deep wood accents and warm furnishings envelop guests in comfort, style and grace. And depending upon the season, we provide warm indoor events in front of the fire or spacious outdoor gatherings under the trees and lights. Services Offered Mowbray Chapel is a venue rental space only. We are happy to provide a list of preferred vendors for catering, wine, rentals, and florals. A walkthrough of the space allows soon-to-be-weds the opportunity to envision their event. History Originally built in the mid-1860s, this building was commissioned by the Methodist Episcopal Church and named Walton Chapel. Destroyed by fire, it was rebuilt 25 years later and renamed Mowbray. Over the years it served as a chapel and gathering space for the neighboring farms. Abandoned and falling down, it has was purchased in 2017 and transformed into the unique and private space that it is today.
