Just what we needed! Carter Caves State Resort Park is a wonderful place to stay! Our park is located just off I-64, in the area of Olive Hill, Kentucky on 2,000 acres of land with a 45-acre lake (Smokey Lake). The Park's Lewis Caveland Lodge has 28 accommodations with meeting and banquet space for up to 225, 12 cottages, onsite restaurant and catering. We have many seasonal attractions like our swimming pool, horseback riding, gem mining, and an outdoor tennis court. We offer many activities year round such as 30 plus miles of hiking trails, cave tours, fully staffed recreation/interpretation department, playgrounds, miniature golf, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, repelling, rock climbing and more.

Carter Caves State Park is within easy driving distance to two major airports. Blue Grass Airport a public airport in Lexington, Kentucky. Located among world-renowned horse farms and situated directly across from Keeneland Race Course, Blue Grass Airport is the primary airport serving central and eastern Kentucky. It has four major airline carriers: Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. We are approximately 90 miles east of the airport.Tri-State Airport also known as Milton J. Ferguson Field, is a public airport in Huntington, West Virginia, near Ceredo and Kenova. It serves Huntington, West Virginia, Ashland, Kentucky, and Ironton, Ohio. Service animals complying with ADA Title lll regulations are allowed. Yes! Pets are allowed. We are pet friendly. There is a $30/stay PET FEE if a guest chooses to bring a pet for 1 lodge room and $50/stay if a guest chooses to bring a pet for the cottage. At check in, a copy of the Pet Policy will be provided and a Pet Waiver will need to be signed and agreed to by the individual who utilizes this option. Individual guests will be responsible for damages or other maintenance required as a result of their housing any pets. Additional fees may be applicable to any guest found in violation of this policy.
We offer free internet access to our Lodge guests and guest in our Lodge meeting areas. Currently our cottages do not have access to the internet.
