About The Brightsmiths
We are The Brightsmiths, a wedding band from Chesapeake, Virginia. Our team consists of Jon Owings, Maggie Grindrod, and Steve Campbell. We love entertaining couples and their guests with our acoustic music. Whether it's a big celebration or a cozy gathering, indoors or outdoors, we're comfortable performing for any occasion.
Here's what we offer:
- Performance: We provide live and recorded music for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and a 3-hour reception. Steve, our talented violinist, has played at numerous weddings and can perform solo for your ceremony with a wide range of traditional and contemporary music.
- Equipment: We bring our sound system and a simple stage lighting setup. Additionally, we offer a wireless handheld microphone for toasts at no extra cost.
- Customized Music: Our reception playlist covers soothing, clever, and captivating versions of songs from the 1950s to the 2000s. If there's a specific piece you want that we don't currently play, just let us know! We'll either learn and perform it or play a recording of your favorite artist.
Our small band, tucked neatly under Edison bulbs, played tunes by Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Stevie Nicks, Cheap Trick, Crosby Stills & Nash, Linda Rondstat, and more! Dressed sharply, we offer a blend of elegant folk charm, creating a relaxed and delightful atmosphere.
